Peninsular War Battles is a wargame set in the period of the Peninsular War, a time of uncertainty in the relationships between nations. The conflict is between the French and the British over control of Spain and Portugal.

This is the most advanced game from HexWar. It is the only wargame where the gameplay is accessible to the public, in both a campaign and a map.

The Peninsular War was one of the most important wars of the period, and the map represents the terrain and the battles of the war. It has 5 different campaigns, each with 40 missions. It is also possible to replay the missions of the previous campaigns, or to create a campaign from scratch.

There are 64 units in the game. They are divided into light infantry, heavy infantry, light cavalry, heavy cavalry, and artillery. Each unit is an accurate representation of the weapons, armor, and equipment of the time. It is possible to form lines, columns, and squares. It is also possible to move, shoot, and fight in open order, in line, in column, or in square.
